They are extremely shrewd businesswomen who created personas which they then pimped out to the American public and watched as we ate up everything they gave to us without question for a really really long time.

I’m a fan of anyone who can shamelessly stay in-character for that long, though also love it when you can see their brain ticking and get a peak inside of the act. There’s a way that they look at people/things - most common with Nicole, because she’s more the instigator - where you can like, see her thinking, then making the choice to play dumb for the sake of the joke. I love that.
